Sirena — A Survivor with Ocean Eyes
Sirena entered my life in 2022, near the Acima (Marjane) in Gueliz, Marrakech.
She was hiding behind the metal gate of a shop, a tiny trembling silhouette, meowing constantly as if she were calling for help. Her voice was fragile, but determined.
I picked her up that morning in an alarming condition and immediately took her to the Yasmine Clinic, to Dr. Mohammad LAMRANI.
The diagnosis was a shock.
Her teeth were severely infected. Some were already rotting, the infection had spread to her gums, and a perforation had formed in her throat. The pain she must have been enduring was unimaginable for such a small body. That was how our story began — in urgency, fear, and hope.
Sirena was an extremely fragile kitten. She often fell ill, ate very little, and remained weak. Every small improvement felt like a victory.
At nine months old, Sirena developed feline mycoplasmosis (hemobartonellosis), a blood parasite that attacks red blood cells, causing a high fever of 41°C and severe anemia. She underwent a heavy treatment with doxycycline for 21 days. Every single day mattered.
Around the age of one, after her sterilization, her condition worsened again.
She was losing weight despite having an appetite. Her coat lost its shine. Then the seizures began — episodes resembling epilepsy.
The verdict came: FIP, neurological form.
One of the most severe forms. Her condition was critical. Several times, I believed I was going to lose her.
But Sirena is a fighter.
She underwent GS treatment for three months, following the base-12 protocol. We started with several days of injections, then continued the treatment with GS tablets. It was a long, exhausting, and uncertain journey. Every step was one step closer to life.
Today, Sirena is in excellent health.
She no longer suffers. She no longer falls sick.
She lives happily, surrounded by love — as if her past were only a distant memory.
Her name suits her perfectly: Sirena.
A small and fragile creature at the beginning, yet carrying a deep and silent strength — capable of crossing storms and returning to the light.
